The first room visited is the Fertilizing Room with its incubators. Here ova are fertilized in test tubes to be grown into human beings. The chapter gives a detailed, scientific description of the fertilization process. Because of scientific advancements, the kind of human being created can be controlled. Depending upon society's needs, either superior humans (Alphas and Betas) or inferior humans (Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons) are created during fertilization. The inferior creations undergo Bokanovsky's Process, whereby one egg will result in a hundred human beings because of a series of "arrested developments." The Director of the Hatchery praises Bokanovsky's Process, because it ensures uniform batches of standard women and men.
The novel opens in the "year of stability," A.F. 632. The Director of Hatcheries and Conditioning is taking a group of new on a tour of the Central London Hatchery and Conditioning Center. The world's motto is inscribed at the entrance to the center: Community, Identity, Stability. The motto seems to appropriately state the nature of the hatchery, as well as the nature of the world that Huxley creates. The center strives for comiuntity, dentity, and stability as it literally creates the people of the world.

Chanclas

1. Precious- valuable, unique, special. 2. Scuffed- rough or misshaped by use.

3. Baptism- a ceremony in witch someone is blessed in holy water to become a member of the Christian religion. 4.Linoleum- a type of material used for covering floors.

I read about a girl. It did not show her name in the story. Her mother got her new under-garments and a new dress with socks for the baptism party dance but her mother could not get her new shoes so her mother told her that she had to wear her old school shoes that were brown and white and very scuffed. When she went to the dance she hid her feet under the table so that no one could see her old shoes. Her uncle said "lets show them the new dance we learned." and she said "but my shoes are ugly and everyone will laugh at me." and he picked her up and said "you will be fine." and so she said "okay." Then they danced the way he told her to and after the music stopped all she heard was clapping.

I liked this story because it had a happy ending and everyone was happy.

Stop the sun

1.Psychiatrist-A doctor that helps you with your problems. 2.Veteran-A former soldier in the army.
3.Involvement-The act of being part of something. 4.

I read about a man named Jeorge and he had a sickness called veitnam syndrome. His son Bob wants to know what veitnam syndrome is. His dad started to ramble on about what happened in veitnam and he said "We were in the hot zone and as soon as we were going to leave we were ambushed me and my troops tried to get out of there but it was just too hard. It seemed as if there were enemies firing from every angle. Then just as the firing stopped most of my comrads were oblitorated and I was the only one alive so I hid under the body of one of my fellow soldiers. I tried to think what would happen if I got up but the sound of my ringing ears got in the way of my concentration, so I looked and the sun was starting to come up and I thought I am going to die...they will find me...here in under the body, in the rice fields... So i thought that if I stopped the sun I would not die..or would I?"

I think that he had a rough time in Vietnam, cause he lost all of his friends. He almost died himself cause the enemies were firing from every angle. It effected him when he lost all his friends cause he really knew those men really well. I know what its like cause I have lost a friends too.

Twilight: New Moon

I read about a girl named Bella. The beggining of the book states something about a strange dream she had. Or was it a dream...To her it seemed almost like a prophecy as she did not know what was held in store for her the next day...In her dream what I got was going on is she saw her grandmother but, in the corner of her eye she saw her boyfriend named Edward and he came up and whispered in her ear "Happy Birthday." and put his arm around her back and she put her arm around his lower back then she looked up at her grandmother and she was standing kind of funny and then she whispered "Gramma." and she reached out to touch her grandmother and she imitated almost mirrored the same thing and reached out. Bella felt something ice cold on her fingertips. Soon she realized that vampires don't have reflections and that her grandmother was not her grandmother it was her she freaked out and woke up.

later on in the book I think that she is going to find out something she won't like..

A word that I thought was cool was Prophecy and it means: a Premenition, a Vision, to see an image or images in a factual way.
